Meaning & Analysis

Invasion Guide 4, London, Manchester, Newcastle was published to accompany Invader’s ambitious installation project, the Space Invaders project, which the artist has been working continuously on since 1998. The project involves Invader travelling all over the world and ‘invading’ bustling cities by installing mosaic aliens onto the city walls. Invader strives to erect 20 to 50 mosaics per city he invades and the artist has developed a sophisticated points system to rank the success of each invasion.

This book provides detailed information regarding Invader’s trip to the UK and the locations of the mosaics he installed there. The artist has also developed an online database which enables him, as well as members of the public, to track the artworks he has installed all over the world.
