Congestion Charge - Banksy, Crude Oils - MyArtBroker & Bonhams

On 29th June 2023, Banksy’s Congestion Charge will make its auction debut at Bonhams London. The work is being offered by British fashion designer Paul Smith, who purchased it from Santa’s Ghetto - Banksy’s “squat art concept store” - in 2004. The work originates from Banksy’s Vandalised Oil (aka Crude Oils) series, which features some of the anonymous mavericks' most famous - and most expensive - works. Florence Whittaker spoke with Bonhams’ Irene Seiberger about the upcoming sale and the story behind Banksy’s covetable Crude Oils series.
