Mel Bochner is an American conceptual artist and one of the pioneers of post-minimalism in the 1960s and 1970s. This movement sought to move away from the sleek minimalism of the time and towards more experimental, process-based art. Bochner's work explores the intersection of art, language and perception, sparking dialogues on meaning and communication. Vibrant colour and shapes play a key part in the artist's portfolio as he experiments with various mediums, from painting and drawing, to sculpture and installation. Pushing visual boundaries and challenging viewers' understanding of the world, he continues to be a vital force in contemporary art.
