Dylan's work emphasises the bridge's role in revolutionising transportation between Brooklyn and Manhattan, initially serving trolleys before accommodating cars and a subway service. His bold use of colour and dynamic perspective captures both the engineering achievement and the bridge's integration into daily urban life. The work reflects Dylan's fascination with American infrastructure that connects communities while serving as symbols of progress and possibility.

Originally designated “Bridge No. 3” during construction, the Manhattan Bridge represents the City Beautiful movement's effort to introduce neoclassical architecture to counter the urban decay that had begun to spread. Dylan's artistic interpretation transforms this functional structure into a meditation on American ambition and the built environment's role in shaping cultural identity, connecting his visual practice to his musical exploration of American themes.
