Biography

Born on 6 October 1963 in Recife, Brazil, Britto was as one of nine siblings. Despite experiencing poverty, he discovered his passion for art early on, using discarded cardboard and paper to create his early works. In 1983, Britto moved to Europe.

His relocation to Miami marked a turning point in his career, propelling him to prominence within the Neo-Pop Art movement. Britto's art reflects the vibrant culture of his Brazilian heritage, infusing his works with optimism and joy. He asserts that 'art is too important not to share', a belief that drives his creativity and philanthropy.

Britto's early works, characterised by playful motifs and bright hues, defined his voice in the Contemporary Art scene. Britto's art has been showcased in prestigious venues worldwide, including the Louvre in Paris.

Collaboration has been an important aspect of Britto's artistic career. He has collaborated with various brands and organisations, amplifying the commercial appeal of his art. His works have been featured at the Super Bowl and the FIFA World Cup, solidifying his status as a global icon.
